In nuclear physics, a magic number is a number of nucleons (either protons or neutrons, separately) which are arranged into complete shells within the atomic nucleus. In Social Media however the magic number is the number of times you show your ad to your audience! This in scientific Social Media terms is referred to as ‘Frequency’ still with us? Great!

So what is the perfect frequency? 🤔

A recent Facebook study found that a frequency cap of 1-2 impressions per week was shown to be sufficient for brand impact. Beyond that (3+) you may not get a whole lot more out of your audiences.

Of course, every business is different and depending on your marketing objectives there are factors to consider when setting your frequency cap. Think of it like a balancing scale with number 2 in the middle. ⚖️

👈 Established brand? Long campaign duration or high market share? Lower the frequency.

👉 New Brand with a new campaign message? Short campaign duration? You’ll still see effective results tipping the scale higher!
